Late For Class
I'm hurrying up, trying to get to class, cutting my way through the hot melting sun in our beloved college. I made it to the front door and suddenly a group of girls decide to stand in front of the hallway and have a freakin conversation! i ask them politely to move so i could pass, and when i do, i find a bunch of girls -who put a whole new meaning to the word annoying- walking slowly on the stairway texting, for fucks sake could you please MOVE YOUR ASSES OUT OF MY WAY!! thankfully i made it to class, i search for an empty seat, and when i come closer i find a huge amount of hair dangling from my seat, perfect just what i need, i ask a girl next to me if she could hand me some tissues to clean up this sickening image that's facing me. I sit back, inhale the cold air coming from the air condition, open up my text book and begin my lecture.Saturday, October 31, 2009

Regret
I wish i could take back the things i said.
They can never be erased, and so i must suffer the consequences.

One of Those Endless Classics
Lots of things to do, yet i continue to struggle with not wanting to do anything at all. We're heading to Shargeya tomorrow to attend a wedding which i'm really not looking forward to, then we're going to Bahrain after that, i hope it'll be fun.
And oh remember when i mentioned how i was planning on gaining weight, well voila mission accomplished, everyone has been saying how healthy i look these days and i'm so happy how things turned out pretty well for me.
That's all for now peeps.
Toodles xx

Fashion Emergency
Colorful bras under white blouses.
A crime girls should be shot for. It's so trashy.
Blue and green contacts.
I think it was over 10 years ago. Stop it.
Orange lipstick.
Wtf?
Fake tan.
It's supposed to look 'natural', not literally fake.
Blond hair on dark skinned
Seriously? who said you could possibly pull that off?
Some girls really need help, i would gladly give fashion tips for free. For the sake of helping the needy.

What You Need To Know About Psychology
Situation #1
Someone: So what are you studying?
Me: Psychology.
Someone: Mashallah that's amazing! I've always been fascinated by it!
Situation #2
Someone: So what are you studying?
Me: Psychology.
Someone: *looks away* *then looks back at me* *gives out an Ahhh*
*Pause*
Someone: Ummm...is it nice?
These are the two types of situations i always encounter with. They either think it's something amazing and start asking questions about it, or just look at me like i'm some kind of a psycho.
Alot of people don't know what it is exactly. What do they study about? Is it related to medicine? Will they be affected by it? Will they be mentally ill?
Here's something i found that will help clarify things for you.
Psychology Is the Study of the Mind and Behavior
Psychology is the study of the mental processes and behavior. The term psychology comes from the Greek word psyche meaning "breath, spirit, soul" and the logia meaning "study of." Psychology emerged from biology and philosophy and is closely linked to other disciplines including sociology, medicine, linguistics and anthropology.
Psychology Uses Scientific Methods
One of the most common myths about psychology is that it is just "common sense." Unlike common sense, psychology relies on scientific methods to investigate questions and arrive at conclusions. Psychologists use a range of techniques to study the human mind and behavior, including naturalistic observation, experiments, case studies and questionnaires.
Psychologists Take Many Different Perspectives
Topics and questions in psychology can be looked at in a number of different ways. For example, psychologists may look at something like violence from a number of different perspectives. Some psychologists may look at how biological influences contribute to violence, while other psychologists might look at factors like culture, family influence, social pressure and situational variables influence violence. Some of the major perspectives in psychology include the:
* Biological perspective
* Cognitive perspective
* Behavioral perspective
* Evolutionary perspective
* Humanistic perspective
Psychology Has a Many Subfields
There are many different branches of psychology. Introductory students often explore the basics of these various specialty areas, but further exploration of each individual field may depend on what course of study you select. Some of the biggest subfields within psychology are clinical psychology, personality psychology, cognitive psychology, developmental psychology and social psychology.
Psychology Is Not Just About Therapy
When you think of psychology, do you envision a therapist with a notepad taking notes as a client recounts childhood experiences? While therapy is certainly a big part of psychology, it is not the only thing that psychologists do. In fact, some psychologists don't work in the field of mental health at all. Psychology encompasses other areas including teaching, research and consulting. Psychologists work in a wide variety of settings, including:
* Colleges and universities
* Private corporations
* K-12 Schools
* Hospitals
* Government offices
Psychology Is All Around You
Psychology is not just an academic subject that exists only in classroom, research labs and mental health offices. The principles of psychology can be seen all around you in everyday situations. The television commercials and print ads you see everyday rely on psychology to develop marketing message that influence and persuade people to purchase the advertised products. The websites you visit on a regular basis utilize psychology to understand how people read, use and interpret online information.
Psychology Studies Both Normal and Abnormal Behavior
When many people think about psychology, they immediately think about the diagnosis and treatment of abnormal behavior. However, it is important to remember that psychology studies normal behavior as well.
Psychology Seeks to Describe, Explain, Predict, Modify and Improve Behaviors
There are four major goals of psychology:
* To describe human thought and behavior
* To explain why these behaviors occur
* To predict how, why and when these behaviors will occur again in the future
* To modify and improve behaviors to better the lives of individuals and society as a whole
And just to clear something out. There's a huge difference between a psychiatrist and a psychologist. A psychiatrist is a license medical doctor who specializes in disease of the mind (not brain, that's a neurologist). A psychologist is a non-medical health-care professional who has taken a masters degree or doctorate in psychology and treats people using words (therapy etc) whereas a psychiatrist can also treat with words but can add medicines to that. In some jurisdictions clinical psychologists can also prescribe certain drugs for mental illness, although they have to take an extra course and the practice remains controversial.
I don't study medicine so that doesn't make me a psychiatrist, but i will be a clinical psychologist enshallah :)
